Rihanna with FENTY is the first Black Woman in charge of a major Luxury Fashion House in Paris. Today, Rihanna fully released her NEW debut Luxury line with LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) called FENTY Release 5-19. She has previously collaborated with River Island and Puma but she is now the first Black woman and the only woman to ever launch an original LVMH brand.
In the NYTimes Style Magazine Spring 2019 article Rihanna said “I hate seeing something on the runway and have to wait six months for it. So with this, you see it, you love it, you can have it. I want to be as disruptive as possible. The brand is not traditional. There is no runway show. It’s a new way of doing thing because I believe that this is where fashion is going eventually.”
FENTY is a luxury brand that is classic with gender fluid statement pieces with sizes from 2/XS to 4/XXXL that will only be sold online and available immediately. Luxury Brands are usually for one particular woman in mind. She wants every release to show a different side of an edgy complex woman like herself.
Rihanna successfully changed the face of the cosmetic industry when she released her FENTY Cosmetics Line which is more inclusive with it’s 40+ foundation shades. Almost all other brands rushed out more shades to compete. She is now trying to change the way Luxury Brands are sold with her new FENTY line.
