As a Costume Designer I am always looking for original and one of a kind designs for my shows. If I can’t find what I am looking for I will design and create what I need. We have a lot of fun in the Disney Channel’s “Raven’s Home” Wardrobe Department.
In the Raven’s Home script for the final episode of Season 1, Raven Baxter designs a special Jacket that she sells to a rich multimedia star Liz Anya (also played by Raven Simone) For $10,000. By selling this Jacket Raven Baxter quits the job that she hates and uses the money to start her New Fashion Line “Ravenous”
I wanted to design a very special Jacket for the show and in the process of sketching with Raven I asked if she would paint the fabric to make it even more special. Raven happily agreed and quickly started painting. Raven Simone is an accomplished artist, and I was so proud when she got her first Fine Arts Degree. Raven painted the back of the jacket first, then we took over an entire room so that she could finish painting the remaining pattern pieces to the jacket. Once all of the pieces dried completely the jacket was sewn together to complete our beautiful work of art.
